When my 7 year old and I started cooking more and more, I was getting frustrated with recipie sites for all the normal reasons--lots of scrolling, complicated instructions, hard to follow steps.

I started using Chat GPT to rewrite some of our favorite recipies to make them more kid friendly. Most importantly, we would put the measurements in line with the steps so that we weren't constantly flipping back and forth. This made cooking a lot more fun, and we thought we'd share our recipes with the world.

What is special about Runaway Pancakes?

• Kid friendly recipes. Yummy with simple ingredients. Lots of deserts and simple meals. Just like kids like it.
• Easy to follow instructions. The ingredients are there with you the entire way--you'll never have to flip back and forth.
• Lots of photos! We used AI to generate lots of photos to keep the kiddos engaged in their cooking activities.
• Requires adult supervision. All our recipes require some help from a parent or adult friend.

We also are making Runaway Pancakes as a way to learn about business together. We are tracking our costs, our time, thinking about what we are offering (a service!), and figuring out how to make a little money.

We are not trying to make a lot of money off Runaway Pancakes; instead, we want to earn back our costs, provide something of value, and donate our profits to charities we believe in.

We're planning to publish our progress as a business so that people can learn from our little project! So far we have this basic list of costs:
